Can you still make 35mm slides?
We are one of the few full-service labs in the world that produce 35mm slides and negatives from your digital photos. Yes, extremely high resolution photographic film from digital files – seems impossible? Well, we have produced tens of thousands of 35mm slides over the past 30 years, so certainly possible!
What are the different sizes of film slides?
Types of Photo Slides
- 35mm slide. The 35mm slide is the most common type of slide.
- 126 slide. The 126 slide is similar to the 35mm slide except in size.
- 127 super slide. The film itself in a 127 super slide is 48mm wide, putting it between the 35mm and 120 medium formats in size.
- 120 slide.
- 110 slide.
What is a 35 mm slide?
‘Slide’ commonly refers to a 35 mm photographic positive image comprising chromogenic dyes on a transparent base held inside a plastic or card mount. Without this mount, the transparent film material would not be able to ‘slide’ from one image to another inside a carousel or magazine when projected.
What size is a 35 mm slide?
2″x 2″
35mm Slides are individual 35mm Negatives housed in a 2″x 2″ mount. The mounts are usually made of plastic or dense cardboard. The size of the frame that displays is usually 23mm x 34mm (tall x wide) depending on the manufacturer. 110 film was created for Kodak Instamatic cameras in 1972.
How thick is a 35mm slide?

What is a mounting medium?
Mounting medium is the medium that your sample is in while it is being imaged on the microscope. The simplest type of mounting medium is air, or a saline-based buffered solution, such as PBS.
What are dimensions of 35mm?
24mm x 36mm
35mm film has a standardized frame size of 24mm x 36mm (864 sq. mm of film surface). An advantage of 35mm is because it’s smaller. This smaller size makes the camera and the cartridges a bit more portable to larger format cameras that are bulkier and heavier.
What is a 35 mm negative?
35mm negatives have a 36mm by 24mm image frame, referred to as “full frame” format. Negatives generally are a higher resolution image than the photos we see, so our default scanning resolution is higher than that of a normal photograph, and comparable to that of slides. Most rolls of 35mm film are 24 or 36 images long.
