Can you tell the difference between 320kbps and FLAC?

Can you tell the difference between 320kbps and FLAC?

Up till about 320kbps it’s pretty easy to tell the difference, but 320 vs FLAC is where I lose confidence distinguishing the two. The short answer to your question is yes, 320 kbps & FLAC sound infinitely better than the low-fi rips and streams you are used to.

Do you prefer 320kbps or 192kbps K-pop?

Some tracks are better than others, but for the most part, the big company K-pop groups seem to benefit more from 320kbps from what I can hear. As dumb as it sounds, i actually buy all my kpop in CD form and rip it to FLAC for in-home listening. On my home theater I can hear a huge difference between FLAC and 192 kbps MP3.

Does 320kbps sound better than low-fi rips?

The short answer to your question is yes, 320 kbps & FLAC sound infinitely better than the low-fi rips and streams you are used to. I’ve never tried premium Spotify or Tidal though – I’ve only worked with local media, and I inherently distrust streaming services (but that’s partially because I have a disappointing internet provider).

Can you tell the difference between 192 and 320 bit rates?

Most of us can certainly tell the difference between 128 and 192 bit rates but the difference is less audible between 192 and 320. However, for the trained ear I purpose that there’s a difference. I certainly feel that listening to some 320 bit rates compared to their 192 counter parts is less tasking.

Unless you’re investing in very good audio gear, AND probably have well-trained ears, you won’t note any differences between 320k MP3 and FLAC. I’m assuming you’re talking about downloading some files in those formats. Test it for yourself, with the gear you have.

Is FLAC noticeably better than MP3?

From the previous paragraph, we understand that FLAC has a better quality than MP3. In fact, these two formats cannot be really compared quality-wise, because FLAC’s quality is as in an original recording, whereas MP3 cannot say so. FLAC vs. MP3, in terms of quality, always wins.

Can you tell the difference between lossless and high quality?

The Difference Between Lossless and High-Resolution Audio So, lossless audio doesn’t mean higher quality audio. Any audio, whether high-resolution or not, can be lossless. On the other hand, high-resolution audio is better quality audio that has a higher bit depth and a high sampling rate.

Is Spotify 320kbps good?

Spotify’s audio quality limit is still 320kbps (the maximum bitrate threshold for MP3), which it calls ‘very high quality’ in its audio settings menu.
