This all-in-one biOrb Service Kit is designed with our customers in mind. The Marine Service Kit is what you will need to replace your filter cartridge and maintain your Saltwater biOrb. Maintaining a Saltwater aquarium is a little more involved than a freshwater aquarium.

Can you keep clownfish in a Biorb?
I feed with Hikari Marine S pellet and nothing else, my clown’s and crabs love them, live food like brine shrimp should never be put in a Biorb aquarium as it’s too small in volume to cope with the waste created, and has little nutritional value to your fish.

Can I use sand in a biOrb?
Reef-One advises against putting gravel, sand or small stones in the biOrb. Gravel is likely to reduce filtration and may become lodged in the filter cartridge casing. However, if you do use other gravel of ceramic media in your biorb or biube, make sure it is big enough not to get stuck in the bottom of the aquarium.

How often should I clean my biOrb?
You should clean your biorb every couple of weeks, or more frequently if you notice your water is dirty or water levels are unhealthy. If the biorb filter sponge gets dirty before a change is due it can be washed.
Why does my biOrb keep going green?
If large areas of algae grow or the water goes very green very quickly, this indicates that there is a problem with the water that’s causing the excess growth. Algae needs sunglight and nutrients in order to grow.
Can I put real plants in BiOrb?
There are several benefits to growing real plants in the aquarium. Plants feed off nitrate and phosphate, helping to keep levels low and algae at bay. They also provide hiding places for fish, add interest to their environment and a tasty snack for some fish.
What do you put in the bottom of a BiOrb?
Pour in the bottom decoration you have chosen, like stones or pebbles. But gravel and sand are not appropriate for the bottom filter, in a Biorb or Biube, as they could clog it. Now you can place your decorations and finish pouring in the water.
