What is FP cable?

What is FP cable?

‘FP’ is short for Fire Performance. It is the ability of a fire resistant cable to continue to perform and maintain circuit integrity in a fire.

What does FP 200 mean?

FP200 Gold is Prysmian’s ‘standard’ fire resistant cable is the original alternative to mineral insulated copper clad cable (MICC). It is a tough, durable and dressable systems cable – easy to install and terminate.

How many amps can 1.5 FP take?

Depending on the installation method used, the 1.5mm cable has a maximum rated capacity of between 14 and 20 amps, so its right on the limit.

What is FP gold?

Prysmian FP200 Gold is a ‘standard’ fire resistant cable as defined by fire alarm and emergency lighting British Standards and the original alternative to mineral insulated cable. It is a tough, durable and dressable fire resistant cable – easy to install and terminate.

Where is FP cable used?

FP200 Gold cables are ideal for installations in fire detection, voice alarm, emergency lighting and smoke alarm systems which depend on circuit integrity in the event of fire.

Can FP cable be used outside?

UV-stable Sheath Prysmian’s fire resistant cables FP200 Gold and FP PLUS each have a UV stable outer sheath. This enables these cables to be used outside in the UK climate. While all polymers eventually degrade with time, exposure to UV radiation will contribute to this degradation.

What is FP cable made from?

Plain copper, Insudite insulation, laminated aluminium foil screen and tinned copper earth wire, LSHF sheath. Voltage Rating: 300/500V.

What is FP 200 made from?

Construction. Plain copper conductor class 1 or 2, cross linked impact resistant insulation, colour coded cores with an un-insulated tinned circuit protective conductor (CPC). The screening is a longitudinally applied laminated aluminium tape, in contact with the CPC, and bonded to the sheath for easy removal.
