What is the difference between Osmo 3043 and 3054?
3054 is the original North American formulation. 3043 is a slightly thinner variation of it, in order to make it easier to apply by brush or roller. You can also apply both with a non abrasive woven pad or lint free cloth.
How many coats of Osmo oil do you need?
OSMO Hardwax Oil requires two coats. The second coat should be applied after the first coat is thoroughly dry. Most people wait until the next day.
How long does Osmo oil last once opened?
Ventilate well while drying. NOTE Oils enhance the natural tone of wood (permanent wet effect). Depending on the degree of weathering, apply one coat of Osmo UV-Protection-Oil to the cleaned and intact finish after approx. 3-4 years.
Should you buff Osmo oil?
When thoroughly dry, surface can be buffed or polished with hand polisher or buffing machine. The only difference in applying the Clear Extra Thin is to let it sit for 30 minutes before wiping away any excess.
How long does Osmo oil take to dry?
Polyx®-Oils and all other Osmo products have a curing time of approx. 10-14 days. During this time, we advise to keep floor traffic as low as possible and avoid covering the wood’s surface (e.g. with a rug or mat) which can block the circulation of air and the curing of the finish – potentially causing discolouration.
