Can zoas be placed together?

Can zoas be placed together?

Answer for the second question : Yes, zoas can overgrow other zoas’ species, but most of the time they grow together in piece.

Will zoas grow in shade?

Fruit Loops and a lot of the so called “deep water” zoas will thrive in shade. My colony of Fruit Loops thrives in the overhang of a ledge. They have not colonized the area of the rock that is in the light. The frags melt if they are not shaded as well.

Do Goniopora like high light?

Goniopora can thrive in a wide range of lighting. We have kept Goniopora in different lighting intensities here at Tidal Gardens ranging from very dimly lit 50 PAR tanks all the way to bright aquariums receiving over 200 PAR. I would recommend placing them under moderate lighting intensities, between 75-125 PAR.

Can I put Zoa on sand?

Dependent on the zoa, they do have the ability to mat across the sand, although they don’t really bind to it like they would rock per say. Growth rates will however be slower than on the rock. Stick to rock and hard surfaces.

Do I need to feed zoas?

Like others had said, you don’t need to feed them as they will feed off light, water, and fish waste but if you want to feed them make sure you feed as little as possible. It’s very easy to get too much nutrients in the water and have algae blooms and poor water quality.

How do you keep Goniopora healthy?

Do Goniopora like flow?

It did not like direct flow one little bit; did its best very near the sand-bed well out of the way of any direct flow but with plenty of gentle water movement around it.

Can you place Goniopora next to each other?

Goniopora can be very aggressive but not all are. Some can be next to each other while others are not. They can also put sweepers out pretty far if need be. It can happen fast since gonis are very touchy.

Will zoas grow on sand?

How fast do zoas multiply?

Some colonies may get a new zoa every day or two, others maybe one a month.

How fast do zoas spread?

Depends on the zoas I think. Most of mine grow at about a polyp every few weeks. However, I have a colony that is not invasive by nature but is growing about 1 polyp a day!
