Why is the THX intro scary?
Obi-Wan Finale – The Loop THX-phobia is the fear of the THX logo and/or the Deep Note and/or digital audio. This fear usually sprouts in childhood, as the logo was infamous for scaring young children due to its loud and jarring audio and being featured in many Disney and Pixar movies and other movies too.

The THX logo theme consists of 30 voices over seven measures, starting in a narrow range, 200 to 400 Hz, and slowly diverging to preselected pitches encompassing three octaves. The 30 voices begin at pitches between 200 Hz and 400 Hz and arrive at pre-selected pitches spanning three octaves by the fourth measure.
How loud is the THX sound?

Is THX a Dolby?
According to THX, “THX Listening Modes can be used in conjunction with a variety of audio encodings (Dolby Digital, DTS, etc). For instance, THX Cinema Mode does not override material that was encoded with Dolby Digital. However, it does add some settings that help adapt the audio for the home environment.
