What is NSB40?
The Wylex Circuit Breaker B40 NSB40 is used to control and protect the electrical panel. It also controls and protects the other devices from overflowing of electrical power. Circuit breakers are used to maintain and ensure the safety and quality of the energy provided.
Does Wylex NHX fit NSB?
PLEASE NOTE: we currently have a mix of NHX and the newer NHLX Breakers, For use in all Wylex domestic ‘NH’ consumer units. The ‘NHX’ range of RCBOs and MCBs replace the now obsolete ‘NSB’ range. The Wylex NHXB Miniature Circuit Breakers MCBs detect overcurrents due to both overload and fault currents.
What breakers fit Wylex?

Can you mix Rcbos?
Yes, but only if there is not already an 30mA RCD covering the section of busbar you are mixing them on, ie dual RCD or split load board. On a main switch only board mix and match as you wish.
Do all MCBs fit all consumer units?
Not all mcbs fit all consumer units – they should all be standard, but they aren’t always. Not heard of Steeple as a brand/manufacturer, so can’t advise on what’ll fit with what. You could split the tails with a double pole service block and run additional tails to a new smaller cu.
Are RCBOs better than RCDs?
RCD Vs. RCBO: What is the Difference? RCDs can protect against electric shocks, residual currents, and earth faults. On the other hand, RCBOs can do what RCDs can do and protect a circuit from short circuits and overload.
Do I need RCD if I use RCBO?
You need to use an RCBO for the same reasons we recommend an RCB – to save you from accidental electrocution and prevent electrical fires. An RCBO has all the qualities of an RCD with an overcurrent detector.
How much does it cost to change a consumer unit?
The average cost of replacing consumer unit is around £300 to £400 for a six-circuit consumer unit, £400 to £500 for a ten-circuit fuse box, and for a twelve-circuit consumer unit you should expect to pay around £500 to £600.
How long does it take to install a new consumer unit?
Replacing a consumer unit or fuseboard in most domestic settings will take between 4 to 8 hours.
Can I use an RCBO instead of an RCD?
However, you can meet these specifications and save space on the circuit breaker panel: on some circuits, you can replace two devices (RCD and circuit breaker) with a single device (RCBO). This will protect these circuits against current leaks and overloads at the same time.
Will an RCBO work without an earth?
RCBOs do not have to have a separate earth connection to meet the standard EN61009.
