Can you swim at Windansea Beach?
Windansea maintains a low profile within the upscale neighborhood of La Jolla, but for those coming to San Diego for great surf, this beach is the one on your quest for epic waves. Swimming is allowed at the beach, but it is recommended that only experienced swimmers challenge these waters.
Why is it called Windansea?
The neighborhood adjacent to the beach is named Windansea after the beach. It is named after the 1909 oceanfront Strand Hotel that was renamed “Windansea” Hotel in 1919 after the owner Arthur Snell ran a “naming contest”.

Is Windansea Beach dog Friendly?

Both are beautiful! But Coronado is easier to walk around, ride bikes, ice cream shops and the beach is huge! La jolla has a pretty beach and coves but usually have to drive to it and parking can be a pain, especially when you are thinking about going.
