How long does unmixed hair last?
Manufacturers typically recommend using opened, unmixed containers within 6 weeks. After that time, if oxidation has occurred, you may get a darker color result when you dye your hair.
Can you reuse unmixed hair dye?
You can’t reuse leftover dye if it has been mixed with peroxide. You have no other option but to throw it out. Permanent dyes have a longer shelf life than other types of dyes which is around 4-5 years. However, it is important to verify the expiration date of any dye before you use it.
