What are masterwork items?
Masterworked weapons are Legendary or Exotic weapons with a golden border around their weapon icon. These items come with certain unique properties: They can track combatant or Guardian kills. They generate Orbs of Power on multikills.
How many materials do you need to Masterwork a weapon?
Altogether, players will need a total of 16,000 Glimmer, 3 Enhancement Cores and Prisms, and 1 Ascendant Shard. Exotic armor steepens the overall cost, as it requires players to have 24,000 Glimmer, 5 Enhancement Cores and Prisms, and 3 Ascendant Shards.

Legendary weapons capable of dropping as Masterwork weapons can also be manually upgraded to become a Masterwork. You’ll need to spend 10 cores and 25 shards to do it, so save them up for a weapon you know you’ll keep for a long time. Every Masterwork weapon comes with a random stat bonus.

Masterwork Armor pieces grant a 3% damage reduction while using a super move. As a result, a complete Masterwork Armor set grants a 15% damage reduction. Additionally, each rank gives your armor more elemental energy, allowing you to equip more mods.
