What is the difference between DMEK and Dsaek?
DMEK is very similar to DSAEK, with the primary difference being that the donor tissue implanted does not include any stromal tissue, but is instead a pure replacement of endothelium. A DMEK graft, therefore, is much thinner than a DSAEK graft.

DMEK surgery is highly successful. If the graft is not fully attached, a small in-office procedure may be needed to place an additional air bubble in the eye. Significant, sight-threatening complications are exceedingly rare.
