Wake Tech is pleased to offer more than 90 online programs. If you are new to Wake Tech or have not taken an online course at Wake Tech in the past five years, you must complete the eLearning Intro before registering for an online course.

How many classes can you miss at Wake Tech?

You are allowed to miss 10% of total class time for emergencies. As soon as you know that you will miss a class, contact your instructor to get assignments. Consult Blackboard and the course syllabus for specific rules. If you are going to miss a scheduled exam, you must take the exam before the scheduled date.

How many times can you take a class at Wake Tech?

Retaking courses A student may enroll in the same course up to three times during his or her academic career; some courses allow fewer retakes. If you try to register to retake a course, you may see an error message in Self-Service (e.g., Course has been taken 2 time(s).

What is the minimum GPA for Wake Tech?

Wake Tech requires students in all degree, diploma or certificate programs to make satisfactory academic progress, defined as a cumulative GPA of at least 2.0, based on credit hours attempted, throughout their enrollment.

Are Wake Tech classes in person?

Wake Tech is currently offering in-person, online and hybrid classes for the fall semester, which starts August 16. While masks will be required in classrooms and labs, no other changes are being made to in-person instruction at this time. Applications for fall continue to be accepted at apply.waketech.edu.

Does dropping a class affect your transcript?

When a student drops a class, it disappears from their schedule. After the “drop/add” period, a student may still have the option to Withdraw. Withdrawal usually means the course remains on the transcript with a “W” as a grade. It does not affect the student’s GPA (grade point average).
