Does WWOOF pay food?

In exchange for the farm work you do, your host will take care of your lodging and food. As a visitor / volunteer, you will stay with your host in their farm and participate in the daily activities and tasks.

Is Workaway free?

Workaway is free to browse but to contact hosts and arrange placements you need to become a verified member and pay the £37 registration fee (approximately $46 USD). If you sign up using my affiliate link you will also get 3 months extra free on your membership.

Do you get paid for Workaway?

Generally you will be expected to help around 5 hours per day in exchange for food and accommodation. Does WWOOF do background checks?

Hosts go through a rigorous application process New Hosts at WWOOF Independents are required to complete a detailed application and are evaluated case by case. Given the International nature of this operation we are not able to conduct in-depth background checks on our hosts – or volunteers for that matter.

Do you have to pay for WWOOF?

You can pay $40 for a single WWOOF membership or $65 for a joint WWOOF membership. Joint memberships are suitable if you wanted to WWOOF with a partner or friend. Membership lasts a year and entitles you to undertake unlimited WWOOFing trips, along with other benefits.

The Workaway price is €39/$44 for a single traveler per year. For a couple Workaway costs, €49/$56 per year. The hosts do not pay to have a profile, which probably encourages more hosts to sign up; an essential feature to ensure there will be enough hosts for the number of volunteers.
