The closest theme park to Port Orleans Riverside is Epcot. If you plan on driving, the resort is just less than 10 minutes away from the park entrance, while taking the bus will take roughly 30 minutes.
Why is Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside closed?
Port Orleans Riverside has been closed since Disney World shut down in March of 2020 due to the global pandemic.
Does Port Orleans Riverside have its own bus?
In addition to the water taxis, Port Orleans French Quarter and Riverside offer bus transportation. Each resort has a bus stop located in front of the resort’s main entrance. At either resort, walk out of the lobby, and turn to your immediate right. You’ll see the bus stops down the sidewalk on the right.

At Riverside, a preferred room can save you as little as 60 extra feet of walking to the lobby. Or it could save you as much as a 1/4-mile. So even in this spread-out feet-destroying resort, that’s still just an average of 3 minutes of walking each way.

You will not be able to see the Fireworks in great detail from either Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside or Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter as the Theme Parks are a bit too far away, and there are trees that block the view.
How long is boat ride from Port Orleans Riverside to Disney Springs?
The “Sassagoula River Cruise” is a free service which ferries guests from both of the Port Orleans resorts all the way down the river to Disney Springs. The twenty minute boat trip is a very pleasant and relaxing alternative to road transport and shouldn’t be missed.
