Why did Taylor discontinue the 114ce?
Probably due to the price shifts. The 200 series was $999 before the refresh with the PLUS model which bumped the 214ce down to $899. I think it was worth discontinuing the 100 series though. Didn’t play or feel as good as the 200 series the handful of times I tested them at various guitar sellers.

The Taylor page shows the difference in price between a 210 and 214 as $150, with an E adding another $150 to either. Is it worth it? To me yes, because I think the x14 is Taylor best size and is the one I prefer as a fingerstyle player, but if I wanted a dread – no.
