How do you use a boa cast?
Application Instructions:
- Open fully and slide on to extremity.
- Push the Boa® knob down and tighten closure until Brace is comfortably supportive.
- Make sure not to get a kink in the cable while tightening.
- Push down on the Boa knob to lock into place.
- Adjust the Velcro thumb strap.
Can you wash Exos cast?
Since Exos is waterproof, you can easily shower or swim if you want to. Also, If the brace gets dirty, it is easily cleaned with soap and water.

What is a boa brace?
Wrist Brace with BOA® Intended for carpal bone injuries such as lunate, pisiform, or triquietral fractures, scapho-lunate dislocations, triangular fibro-cartilage complex (TFCC) tears, radio-carpal ligament injuries, or minimally displaced or stable distal radius or distal styloid fractures.
How do you heat an Exos brace at home?
HEATING AND APPLICATION ► Open and unfold brace. (Figure 4) ► Proper heating temperature is 200°F (93°C). ► Heat brace in Exos™ oven approximately 3-4 minutes or until brace is pliable. Brace should not be too hot to handle comfortably.
How do you get rid of the smell in Exos cast?
If the brace becomes soiled, it can be scrubbed with a towel moistened with warm soapy water. Wet braces must be dried to reduce odor and the possibility of rash. Air dry or dry using a hair dryer at low heat. Failure to properly wash and dry Exos braces can result in odor and possible rash.
Are Exos cast waterproof?

Casts tend to easily absorb water and sweat. If a cast continues to get wet with water or sweat, it can begin to smell. As always, you should talk to your doctor before you begin any type of exercise or physical activity while in a cast.
