Are Rice dorms coed?

Each undergraduate student at Rice, whether living on campus or not, is a member of one of 11 residential colleges. All colleges are sex and gender neutral. Each college has faculty magisters who live in a house next to the college.

Does Rice have single dorms?

Rice has 11 residential colleges with over 2,500 beds available each summer. Our dorms are located within historic, state of the art buildings and include options for: Single Occupancy Rooms.

What do Rice University students do for fun?

Since Rice is in the heart of Houston, there is a ton of stuff to do: theater, museums, bars, clubs, ethnic locations… anything you can imagine. As a student, I stayed up late to hang out with people, just talking or hanging out, but I would also have to do homework.

Does Rice University have a curfew?

There is a curfew from midnight to 5 a.m., and people have been stopped and arrested for being out and about during that time. There are probably no hotel rooms anywhere, though I haven’t looked. You won’t be able to dine with us at Rice, as we are carefully conserving food supplies for our students.

Do you have a roommate at Rice?

Students are given the option of either requesting to room with a specific incoming student OR be assigned to the same college as a particular incoming student. Please be aware that both students MUST make the same request in writing by the stated deadline.
