How much grease do you put in a trailer wheel bearing?
For traditional greases (NLGI Nos. 1 and 2), pump a ring of grease into the entire circumference of the wheel hub and coat the hub cap inner wall. The housing should only be half full of grease. Too much grease causes churning and higher temperatures.
Are all trailer bearings the same size?
With standard bearings, the inner bearing is larger than the outer, but with parallel bearings they’re the same size. For heavier-duty trailers there are 1.5 tonne, 2 tonne, 3 tonne sets.

The numbers on the back of a trailer bearing correspond to a certain spindle size, and this is the easiest way to determine the correct hub. If a number is not legible on the bearing then you will need a micrometer to measure the inside dimension of the bearing.
How do you check trailer bearings?
Jack up the trailer and secure it on adequate capacity jack stands. Check wheels for side-to-side looseness – There should be a very slight amount of play in the wheel, typically 1/8-inch or less. If the wheels are loose or spin with a wobble, the bearings must be serviced or replaced.

Is wd40 good for bearings?
