All are free and open to the public. Winter is a great time to experience these parks, whether you come for snowplay or a wilderness trip. Winter driving in the mountains can be challenging and tire chains are often required in snowy weather.

As of 2022, all campgrounds in Kings Canyon National Park are accepting reservations via Recreation.Gov. While reservations are typically open 5 to 6 months in advance on Recreation.gov, Kings Canyon National Park has chosen to release reservations on a rolling one-month basis for 2022.
