Does seachem stability really work?

Does seachem stability really work?

I have used Seachem Stability to successfully cycle 2 aquariums now, as well as to restore filter health after medicating or after very large water changes. This product has always worked well to establish or keep my bacterial filter strong and I will continue to keep a bottle on hand for situations in the future.

Can you have too much beneficial bacteria in your tank?

You can’t add too much good bacteria to a fish tank. The beneficial bacteria will feed on the amount of ammonia available for it. If there are more bacteria than food, the extra bacteria will die or become dormant. A more common problem is not having enough nitrifying bacteria.

Is seachem pristine any good?

Pristine seems to help with cleanliness. I dosed it after weekly water changes for several months to facilitate a thriving bacterial community in the tank/filters. I no longer dose it, because very few bacteria are removed during water changes.

Can pristine overdose?

Pristine™ is very safe and quite difficult to overdose to the point of harming tank inhabitants – it would take a gross overdose to have any impact on tank inhabitant health. In general, the worst that can happen in the case of an overdose is a bacteria bloom which shows up as clouding in the tank.

I use Nutrafin cycle too! My LFS had recommended it to me when I first set up my tank (before I knew about other methods of cycling like adding pure ammonia) and I haven’t had any fish loss with it or any ammonia spike.

How does Seachem stability work?

Seachem Stability offers a more direct approach. The product contains spores that will activated when added to your aquarium. Should I use TETRA Safe Start or nutrafin?

I used nutrafin cycle once and wasn’t really impressed… the tank still took forever to cycle and had a serious issue with brown algae. I used Tetra Safe Start on another tank and it was GREAT. Put too many fish in at the same time (before I knew better), and everything went extremely well.
