Part 4 Overview In this part of the test you have about 4 minutes to talk about the topics from part 3 in more detail. You are tested on your ability to give opinions, give reasons for your opinions, and your ability to politely discuss things with your partner.

How do I pass the Cambridge B1 exam?
Scores between 102 and 119 are also reported on your Statement of Results, but you will not receive the Preliminary English Test certificate….B1 Preliminary Scale Scores.

How do you pass a pet?
A score of 140 or above is considered a “pass” and students with that score will receive the B1 Preliminary exam certificate, which corresponds to a level B1 in English on the CEFR. Students scoring 160 or above on the PET Exam will receive a Cambridge Preliminary English Test certificate for level B2.
How do you mark a B1 Preliminary?
The examination also provides reliable assessment at the level above B1 (Level B2) and the level below (Level A2)….B1 Preliminary Scale Scores.

How are pet scores calculated?
How to calculate the score for B1 Preliminary (PET)
- Reading: 32 items = 32 points (1 item = 1 point) Part 1: 5 items.
- Writing: 2 items = 40 points. Part 1: 1 item = 20 points.
- Listening: 25 items = 25 points (1 item = 1 points) Part 1: 7 items.
- Speaking: 30 points in total (not divided into parts or items).

What percentage do you need to pass the PET exam?
At the beginning, it was a little bit confusing because in the old system you passed the exam with 60% or more and failed if you had less than that. In the new system the 60% rule is still true, but we simply don’t use percent any more.
Does pet exam expire?
Your Cambridge English exam result/certificate does not have an expiry date*. It shows that on a particular date you demonstrated language skills at a specified level, however, language skills are known to diminish over time if not used and maintained.
What is the highest mark in PET exam?
All candidates receive a Statement of Results, and if you are successful in the exam you will also receive a certificate. The maximum achievable score is 170.
