A hair dryer can usually soften up the tapes’ adhesive to the point where the fishing line trick will work. If not, drip some mineral spirits or WD40 behind the slider and let it sit for 10 minutes. The tape will soften, if not disintegrate, to the point where you can usually peel them off by hand.
